Cabless, our iconic portable lamp, has triumphed at the prestigious KI-Life Sustainable Award 2025, the award that recognises excellence in sustainability.
Made from certified materials and fully decomposable, Cabless represents a new standard in lighting, combining elegant design, cutting-edge technology and a deep respect for the environment.
The award celebrating responsible design
Organised by Kiki Lab in collaboration with MILANO HOME Exhibition, the KI-Life Sustainable Award, now in its 4th edition, celebrates projects and products that embody the values of sustainable development, social responsibility and respect for the environment. Among the 27 finalists, the jury, chaired by Fabrizio Valente (founder and director of Kiki Lab), proclaimed Cabless the overall winner, recognising it as a perfect blend of craftsmanship, technological innovation and responsible design.
"The project succeeds in bringing together traditional craftsmanship and modern technology in the refined and sustainable design of a portable lamp, made of certified wood and completely decomposable, to facilitate the repair or replacement of individual elements of this Made in Italy product".

The meeting of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology
Cabless is much more than just a portable lamp: it is a statement of sustainability that combines excellent Italian craftsmanship and responsible technological innovation.
Made of FSC-certified alder wood from the Imagna Valley, Cabless carries with it a story of environmental respect. The wood used comes from stumps, eliminating the need to cut down trees, a choice that expresses the commitment to the protection of natural resources.
Thanks to its fully decomposable design, each component of the lamp can be easily replaced or repaired, embracing the philosophy of ‘right to repair’, which counteracts planned obsolescence and promotes more ethical consumption. Furthermore, the decision to exclude the USB-C cable from the packaging follows the European Community's indications to reduce electronic waste, encouraging the reuse of existing cables.
A product made in Italy that looks to the future
In addition to its sustainable design, Cabless is equipped with a rechargeable battery and LED bulb, both replaceable, making the product even more durable and environmentally friendly. Each lamp is entirely made in Italy, combining environmental sustainability, social responsibility and territorial enhancement.
